Senior Solution Engineer- Cloudflare Developer Platform (Start-Ups) Washington DC

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to join our Cloudflare Developer Platform team, working with innovative and cutting-edge companies on the planet - the startups and high-growth, cloud-native businesses building the next generation of Internet products. As a technologist, you will enjoy being in the room with builders, engaging in technical conversations, and inspiring teams to build on Cloudflare rather than just consume a single service. Your superpower is technical discovery, translation, and evangelism, understanding what a builder is trying to accomplish and mapping it to the full breadth of the Cloudflare Developer Platform. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will be a customer-facing technologist within the Cloudflare Solutions Engineering team, focused on the developer-first, digital-native segment. You will partner closely with the sales team from the start of the cycle, leading technical discovery, delivering compelling demos and architecture discussions, running proof-of-concept builds, and evangelizing the Cloudflare Developer Platform as the foundation for our customers' next products and AI initiatives. Specific responsibilities will include: - Leading technical discovery within the cloud-developer vertical to understand how customers build, what they're trying to ship, and where Cloudflare fits. - Engaging early and often with sales-led discovery calls, helping to qualify deals from the get-go, and staying embedded with customer teams throughout the cycle. - Identifying and mapping customer initiatives and business problems to the Cloudflare platform, especially around new product development and AI initiatives. - Building relationships and technical champions within customer accounts, from founding engineers and developers up to the CTO. - Developing and presenting tailored technical content to showcase the value of Cloudflare. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to be a "builder" personality with a strong mix of pre-sales/technical customer-facing experience, thriving in an agile, fast-moving environment. You will be fluent in the language of engineers and able to hold credible, detailed technical conversations. You will also need to be comfortable jumping into a Slack channel with a founding engineer, whiteboarding an architecture with a lead developer, and stepping into a strategic conversation with a CTO about their platform and AI roadmap.
