Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Pricing to join Lyft's Marketplace team, where you will play a critical role in determining prices for all rideshare products and supporting new initiatives. As a key member of the Pricing team, you will work with Product & Science to solve and implement complex pricing requirements, balancing the needs of riders, drivers, and the company's goals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Senior Software Engineer, Pricing, your responsibilities will include:
Helping to define the roadmap and architecture based on technology and business needs
Unblocking, supporting, effectively communicating, and obtaining buy-in across teams to achieve results
Leading projects of multiple people from idea to positive execution
Writing clear, scalable, and maintainable design documentation
Writing well-crafted, well-tested, readable, and maintainable code
Utilizing your expertise in Python, Golang, and AWS to deliver robust and scalable solutions
Participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge
Proactively participating in resolving ongoing incidents
Sharing your knowledge through tech talks, mentorship, and evangelizing appropriate tech and engineering best practices
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
At least 5 years of software engineering industry experience
Extensive experience in object-oriented programming, ideally in GoLang or Python
Experience in backend software development of large-scale distributed systems and concurrency
Experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.)
Strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional partners
WHY REMOTE
This role is a hybrid position, requiring in-office work on a regular basis. Team Members will be expected to work in the office at least 3 days per week, including on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. However, the role also offers flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
