Senior Software Engineer - k6 Core | Ireland | Remote

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our k6 Core team at Grafana Labs. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining k6, a performance testing tool written in Go. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a high-impact project, collaborate with a talented team, and contribute to the growth of our open-source ecosystem. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Software Engineer on the k6 Core team, you will work on features and improvements across the k6 codebase, from initial idea through implementation and delivery. You will collaborate with other engineers on design, implementation, and code reviews, and be expected to deliver production-quality code, maintain existing functionality, and help keep the system reliable and maintainable over time. Some work may involve the k6 cloud offering, which builds on top of k6 to run distributed tests across data centers worldwide. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need strong experience building production software in Go, or another language with good support for concurrency and parallelism. You should also have experience working on larger or long-lived codebases, the ability to work independently on scoped problems, and clear technical communication skills. A good understanding of internet protocols such as HTTP, gRPC, and WebSockets, as well as experience with modern development practices, including testing, code review, and iterative development, are also essential.
