Senior Software Engineer - Grafana Databases, Managed Services | Ireland | Remote

Our team is scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different. WHAT YOU'LL DO We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Managed Services team within the Databases department. As a Senior Engineer, you will take ownership of running our production-critical infrastructure that powers Grafana Cloud's next-generation database products. This involves operating and evolving 100+ multi-cloud streaming clusters and related database infrastructure, diagnosing and eliminating cross-layer failure modes, designing safe upgrade and rollout strategies at scale, improving observability, automation, and operational ergonomics, and partnering closely with database and platform teams. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need: - Experience in operating and evolving complex distributed systems - Strong understanding of streaming infrastructure, database systems, and high-throughput workloads - Ability to design safe upgrade and rollout strategies at scale - Experience in improving observability, automation, and operational ergonomics - Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with teams across regions - Experience in developing fault-tolerant patterns that account for distributed system realities - Ability to plan and implement solutions that ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of high-throughput, multi-cloud infrastructure WHY REMOTE As a remote-first company, we provide guidance and meet regularly using video calls.
