Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a talented software engineer to join our team at Datadog, a leading observability and security platform for the AI era. As a critical member of our engineering team, you will play a key role in building and scaling our platform to meet the needs of tens of thousands of companies worldwide. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Solve complex scaling bottlenecks in critical services - Deploy new features to production, progressively rolling them out with feature flags - Investigate and fix production issues from services owned by your team - Design architecture to scale up services for increased traffic - Collaborate with your team to plan the most important projects to work on next WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Significant experience in one or more programming languages - A strong focus on code simplicity and performance - Ability to design architecture to solve problems at high scale - A BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience - 6+ years of experience in software engineering - Demonstrated ability to use AI coding tools in day-to-day workflows and validate, critique, and refine AI-generated output - Experience with systems like Redis, Cassandra, Kafka, and data pipelines is a plus - Strong background in statistics and significant experience with Go, C, or Python WHY REMOTE Datadog is a remote-first company, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while being part of a global team. The actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
