Senior Software Engineer, Core Experience

ABOUT THE ROLE ---------------- We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Core Experience team at Instacart. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in transforming the grocery industry by improving backend systems that power a seamless user journey. You will lead efforts to enhance content discoverability and purchase processes, helping to perfect the interaction between user desires and our vast product offerings. WHAT YOU'LL DO -------------- As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining high-quality backend applications. You will lead the development of our backend system's roadmap, prioritizing scalability and reliability. You will also innovate and think creatively to develop new features that enhance our customer's shopping experiences. Additionally, you will own and lead major components of our product, ensuring they meet both internal standards and external expectations. WHAT YOU'LL NEED ---------------- To be successful in this role, you will need: - 5+ years of backend development experience, with a strong record of project delivery - Proficiency in backend languages, such as Ruby or Go - A solid foundation in unit testing and problem-solving - Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams - Holds a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience WHY REMOTE ------------ As a Flex First team, we prioritize flexibility and work-life balance. BENEFITS ---------- Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits. This role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants. Additionally, you will have access to comprehensive health benefits, parental leave, and education stipend. The base pay range for a successful candidate is $168,000 - $177,500 USD, dependent on their permanent work location.
