Pivotal Health
Senior Software Engineer Case Execution
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Pivotal Health is redefining how healthcare providers secure fair reimbursement by combining software, data, and service into an AI‑driven platform. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Case Execution team, you will shape the operational backbone that powers eligibility checks, batch processing, claim submissions, and orchestration workflows. Your work will directly influence how providers navigate complex reimbursement landscapes, reducing administrative burden and accelerating recovery of owed funds.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of core backend services for eligibility, batching, submissions, ops workflows, and claim orchestration.
- Tackle data‑heavy decision logic, ensuring correctness and optimal sequencing across the platform.
- Build and refine workflow orchestration that stages, routes, and executes cases end‑to‑end with high reliability.
- Collaborate closely with Integrations, Case Strategy, product, and other engineering teams to align system behavior with broader platform goals.
- Contribute to internal-facing UI and ops tooling when product needs arise, maintaining a clean, maintainable code base.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Five or more years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development.
- Proven ability to build and scale data‑intensive, workflow‑oriented systems that require precise decision logic.
- Comfortable solving complex orchestration problems where correctness and sequencing are critical.
- Hands‑on experience with Python in a production backend environment.
- Self‑directed, proactive mindset; you identify bottlenecks and drive solutions with minimal oversight.
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Bonus: familiarity with healthcare data, HealthTech systems, Snowflake, dbt, Databricks, or front‑end work for admin workflows.
