Senior Software Engineer, Backend

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend at Brex, you will play a key role in developing new products and tools that drive direct business impact and shape our long-term technical vision. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying full-stack applications, building scalable backend systems, and working with SQL or NoSQL databases. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including user-facing teams like Sales and Support, to deeply understand customer needs and design solutions to improve their banking experiences. You will own problems end-to-end, from user experience and data models to scalability, operability, and ongoing metrics. You will also tune and polish features to a high degree of excellence. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need 7+ years of professional experience designing, developing, and deploying full-stack applications. You will also need experience building and designing scalable backend systems, working with SQL or NoSQL databases, and working with backend programming languages (Java, Kotlin, Python). Familiarity with software engineering development cycles and strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential. BENEFITS The expected salary range for this role is $192,000-$240,000 CAN. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
