Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the AI Platform team at Mixpanel, a leading digital analytics company trusted by over 29,000 companies. As a key contributor to a small, fast-paced team, you'll be responsible for building scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure that accelerates AI agent development. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing the core backend services, APIs, and microservices that enable product teams to easily and securely leverage AI models. You'll also build scalable frameworks and tools to support multi-step agent workflows, including task decomposition, tool invocation, and persistent memory. Additionally, you'll be responsible for building robust evaluation systems to continuously measure reasoning quality, hallucination rates, and task success, as well as architecting high-performance serving infrastructure with strict guarantees around latency, throughput, cost-efficiency, and error handling. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. You'll also need 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, strong full-stack fundamentals, and excellent debugging and technical investigation skills. Additionally, you'll need strong technical communication skills, ideally with experience collaborating in an asynchronous remote environment. BENEFITS The total target compensation (TTC) for this full-time position is $174,600 - $213,400 across the United States, including base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. This position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits, including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage.
