Airbnb
Senior Social Content Operations Manager, China
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Airbnb is redefining how people experience travel by connecting guests with authentic local hosts. In China, the social media landscape is rapidly evolving, and our brand must be present where our audience is most active. As the Senior Social Content Operations Manager, you will own the strategy and execution of Airbnb’s social presence across China’s leading video‑driven platforms. Your work will directly influence user acquisition, engagement, and conversion, ensuring that Airbnb’s story resonates with millions of potential guests and hosts across the country.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy for Douyin, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and other emerging video platforms, identifying new opportunities and closing operational gaps. You will lead end‑to‑end social operations, from content ideation and production to audience engagement and community building, ensuring alignment with broader marketing and product goals. You will pilot innovative growth initiatives such as live‑stream collaborations and community‑driven campaigns that drive downstream consideration and conversion. You will partner closely with cross‑functional teams—Growth Ops, Marketing, Communications, Product, and Analytics—to embed social insights into business priorities and secure the necessary resources. You will manage relationships with local agencies, setting clear expectations and measuring performance against agreed KPIs. Finally, you will continuously monitor platform trends, user behaviors, and ecosystem shifts, refining Airbnb’s local playbook to maintain a competitive edge.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You bring at least eight years of experience in social or content operations, platform growth, or related roles within the Chinese market. You possess deep knowledge of Douyin, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, and other short‑form video ecosystems, including native formats, discovery algorithms, and best practices. You have a proven track record of managing local agencies and driving complex, cross‑functional projects from conception to launch. Your project management skills enable you to juggle multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high quality. You are data‑driven, using analytics to uncover opportunities, optimize performance, and report impact to stakeholders. You communicate fluently in English and Mandarin, and you thrive in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments, bringing creativity, self‑motivation, and a passion for travel and emerging consumer behaviors.
WHY REMOTE
Airbnb’s distributed culture empowers teams to work asynchronously across time zones, fostering flexibility and work‑life balance. As a remote role within China Mainland, you will enjoy a flexible schedule that accommodates peak platform activity while respecting personal commitments. Our remote model supports collaboration through robust digital tools, ensuring seamless communication with global and regional teams. You will have the freedom to build a home office that inspires creativity and productivity, backed by the company’s commitment to a healthy, inclusive remote work environment.
BENEFITS
Competitive health and dental coverage for you and your dependents. Generous paid time off and a flexible holiday policy that respects cultural observances. A remote work stipend to cover home‑office setup and monthly internet expenses. A dedicated learning budget for professional development, courses, and conferences. Access to Airbnb’s global employee network, wellness programs, and employee assistance resources.
