Webflow
Senior Manager, Engineering
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Webflow is redefining how modern marketing teams build, manage, and optimize web experiences. As a Senior Engineering Manager you will lead the team that transforms Webflow into a code‑native platform, enabling seamless round‑tripping between visual design and high‑fidelity code. This initiative powers a new generation of coding agents that understand and modify the same underlying system, giving developers unprecedented control and confidence. The role sits at the intersection of product vision, architectural excellence, and team growth, and is critical to delivering a developer experience that is both powerful and intuitive.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Set the technical and product direction for Webflow’s code‑native capabilities, defining the roadmap from core primitives to customer‑facing features.
- Own the developer experience, from APIs and tooling to feedback loops, ensuring that code integration feels natural and reliable.
- Lead the integration of AI‑driven coding agents into the building experience, collaborating closely with product, design, and other engineering teams.
- Translate ambiguous technical challenges into robust, usable systems that scale with Webflow’s growth.
- Maintain a hands‑on presence in architecture, design reviews, and prototyping to drive high‑quality delivery.
- Hire, coach, and develop a high‑performing engineering team, fostering a culture of ownership, curiosity, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 4+ years of leadership in engineering teams focused on developer products or complex platform surfaces.
- Deep technical expertise in areas such as compilers, code generation, language tooling, IDEs, or developer infrastructure, enabling active architectural influence.
- Proven experience building or integrating AI or agentic systems, or the ability to rapidly acquire fluency in emerging technologies.
- A track record of turning ambiguous problems into production‑ready systems that delight customers.
- Strong balance of long‑term architecture vision with the agility to ship incremental value.
- Leadership style that blends rigorous technical standards with empathetic coaching and team development.
WHY REMOTE
Webflow embraces a fully remote‑first culture across the United States, British Columbia, and Ontario, allowing you to work from wherever you thrive. Our distributed teams collaborate asynchronously, supported by flexible schedules that respect personal commitments and diverse time zones. Remote work empowers you to focus on high‑impact engineering while enjoying the freedom to design a work environment that fuels creativity and productivity.

- Flexible vacation policy, paid holidays, and a sabbatical program to recharge and pursue personal growth.
- Remote work stipend, learning and development budget, and access to cutting‑edge tools and resources.
