Iterable
Senior IT Engineer (AI)
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Iterable is building the next generation of customer engagement platforms that help brands create personalized, data‑driven experiences at scale. As a Senior IT Engineer (AI) you will be at the forefront of this mission, designing and deploying AI‑powered infrastructure that powers real‑time insights, predictive models, and automated content generation. You will work closely with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to translate business objectives into robust, scalable systems that run on our cloud‑native stack. Your work will directly impact millions of customers worldwide, ensuring that our platform remains reliable, secure, and continuously evolving.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will architect and maintain the AI infrastructure that supports Iterable’s predictive analytics and recommendation engines, ensuring high availability and low latency for real‑time data pipelines. You will lead the migration of legacy AI workloads to containerised microservices on Kubernetes, optimizing resource utilisation and cost efficiency. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data ingestion standards, model deployment workflows, and monitoring dashboards, driving a culture of observability and continuous improvement. You will mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and champion best practices in DevOps, security, and compliance. You will evaluate emerging AI technologies, propose proof‑of‑concepts, and influence the product roadmap by translating technical feasibility into business value. Finally, you will manage incident response for AI services, coordinating with support and operations to minimise downtime and maintain customer trust.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You have at least eight years of experience in software engineering with a deep focus on AI/ML operations, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. You possess strong proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java, and have built end‑to‑end pipelines using Spark, Flink, or similar frameworks. You are experienced with Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines, and have a proven track record of deploying machine learning models at scale. You understand data governance, privacy regulations, and security best practices for AI workloads. You are comfortable working in a fast‑paced, product‑driven environment, and can translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders. Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills are essential, as you will guide teams across multiple time zones and cultures.

Our distributed teams thrive on flexibility, allowing you to balance personal commitments with professional growth. We provide a comprehensive remote work package, including a stipend for home‑office equipment, reliable internet support, and access to virtual team‑building events.
