Senior iOS Engineer, Passport & Commerce

ABOUT THE ROLE Airbnb is redefining travel by turning every stay into a meaningful connection. Within the newly formed Passport & Commerce organization, the Senior iOS Engineer will help lay the foundation for a trusted account and commerce experience that spans sign‑up, profile management, booking, and beyond. You will collaborate with Payments, Wallet, Identity, and Design teams to create a seamless, reliable iOS surface that mirrors the quality of our Android and web counterparts. Your work will enable millions of guests and hosts to trust Airbnb’s platform and keep their benefits and transactions flowing smoothly across devices. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will design and ship complex iOS features using Swift, SwiftUI, and a unidirectional state architecture, ensuring performance and accessibility at scale. You will partner with product and design to translate concepts into polished, user‑centric experiences, and work closely with backend, Android, and web engineers to maintain consistent behavior across platforms. You will write clean, well‑tested code, actively participate in code reviews, and mentor junior engineers to raise the bar on iOS engineering practices. You will also troubleshoot performance and reliability issues, and drive continuous improvement of our CI/CD pipeline and release processes. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least six years of professional iOS engineering experience, having shipped and maintained features in a large‑scale consumer app. You are proficient in Swift, modern iOS architecture, and declarative UI, and have a strong grasp of dependency injection and state management patterns such as MVI, MVVM, or Redux. You have a proven track record of owning end‑to‑end features, from technical design to launch and iteration, and you thrive in an environment of ambiguity. You are comfortable collaborating with cross‑platform teams, shaping APIs, and ensuring consistency across iOS, Android, and web. You mentor peers, influence technical decisions, and maintain a deep understanding of mobile performance, accessibility, and release best practices.
