Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE GitLab is the intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, empowering more than 50 million users to ship secure, high‑velocity software. As a Senior FP&A Analyst, Cloud Hosting, you will be a key finance partner on the FP&A team, translating complex cloud and AI infrastructure data into actionable insights that guide engineering, product, and finance leaders. Your work will directly influence investment decisions, cost optimization, and the overall financial health of GitLab’s cloud‑native services. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will build and maintain detailed forecast models for cloud and AI spend, incorporating actual results, usage drivers, and business initiatives. You will lead month‑end close activities, including accruals, allocations, reconciliations, and variance analysis, and produce clear commentary for leadership. You will partner with engineering, product, procurement, and accounting teams to gather inputs, resolve data discrepancies, and translate findings into concise narratives and recommendation decks. You will extract and analyze billing data from multiple cloud provider consoles, develop automated reporting pipelines, and apply AI tools to enhance data quality and efficiency. You will own deliverables, communicate progress and risks proactively, and adapt priorities in a distributed, asynchronous environment. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You bring at least five years of FP&A or corporate finance experience, with a proven track record of managing vendor spend, forecasting, and month‑end close processes. Your financial modeling skills are advanced, allowing you to build and refine models from scratch and investigate variances with detailed data. You have experience working with cloud and AI vendor spend, and a strong understanding of FinOps principles is a plus. You can translate complex financial and operational information into clear, persuasive narratives for cross‑functional stakeholders. You are self‑motivated, able to prioritize effectively, and communicate clearly in an asynchronous setting. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, and proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools are required. WHY REMOTE GitLab’s all‑remote culture empowers teams to work from anywhere, fostering a flexible schedule that aligns with individual productivity rhythms. The asynchronous environment encourages deep focus, reduces time‑zone friction, and promotes thoughtful communication through written documentation and recorded updates. This structure allows you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments while collaborating seamlessly with global teammates. BENEFITS GitLab offers comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, and vision plans, with generous employee contributions. You receive flexible paid time off and a generous holiday calendar. A remote stipend supports home‑office setup and connectivity needs. We provide a learning budget for courses, certifications, and conferences to support continuous growth. Competitive salary, equity, and a robust benefits package ensure you are rewarded for your contributions and supported in your well‑being.
