Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Business Enablement Engineering Team at Adyen. As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will have a deep passion for AI and Automation and will be responsible for improving how teams work using their day-to-day productivity tooling by applying AI and automation where it has a huge effect and value. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer, you will be the primary driver of internal teams adopting and taking full advantage of our productivity tooling landscape. You will work with and dive deep into non-technical functions such as Legal, Support, and Operations to understand their operational toil, architect the right solutions, and reduce manual work in key business workflows. Your goal will be to speed up the teams' overall day-to-day work. Your responsibilities will include building robust and resilient systems where maintenance is lower or non-existent, creating long-term high-quality documentation and runbooks, and handing ownership back to the function/team before moving on to your next project. You will also identify repeated patterns of stakeholder issues or asks that feed back into Business Enablements Tooling roadmap, automate complex internal processes using Google Vertex AI, Google's Agent Development Kit (ADK), and software engineering, and be responsible for the end-to-end technical delivery of complex technical solutions. You will personally write critical code, configure systems, and troubleshoot issues to ensure successful deployment and measurable business impact. You will also embrace Adyen's "launch fast" formula, quickly developing proofs-of-concept and minimum viable products, translating non-technical business requirements into technical solutions, and gathering feedback along the way. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to be an expert in Software Engineering and bring strong automation skills, with the ability to build, troubleshoot, and scale scripts and tools independently. You will also need a deep understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and applied ML workflows, as well as hands-on experience integrating third-party AI models and using agentic orchestration frameworks. You will have hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) especially integrating applications across services like Vertex AI as well as deploying to on-premise infrastructure such as K8S, Postgres, Redis, etc. You will also have successfully rolled out and maintained integrations across a variety of enterprise applications.
