Senior Engineer - Network Management Platform

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Network Management Platform team at Fastly, a leading edge cloud platform that enables customers to create great digital experiences quickly, securely, and reliably. As a key member of this mission-critical team, you'll work closely with peers across the company to architect and deliver the next generation of features that manage and deploy network configuration, supporting the growth and complexity of Fastly's global fleet. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering features to support infrastructure provisioning, developing and improving software development processes, writing performant and maintainable code, and mentoring other engineers. You'll also contribute to code reviews and improve the codebase and team processes. Your work will be critical in shaping the direction of the team and delivering features that enable Fastly to operate an ever-expanding global fleet. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need significant related professional experience developing software, with a strong background in building and managing containerized applications and container orchestration platforms like Docker and Kubernetes. You'll also need experience with automating public cloud workloads (GCP, AWS) and using IaC solutions such as Terraform. A track record of writing resilient and maintainable Python or another modern language is essential. WHY REMOTE While we prefer candidates based in the US and Canada, we may consider exceptionally qualified remote candidates. This role may require occasional nights and weekends as necessary to support on-call coverage.
