Senior Development Tooling Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Adyen is a leading financial technology platform that provides payments, data, and financial products to customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. As a Senior Development Tooling Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing tools and applications to create a great developer experience for other software engineers at Adyen. You will work alongside a team of great engineers on tooling, software, and systems that aid in maintaining a lean and performant software development lifecycle (SDLC) for feature teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Development Tooling Engineer, you will be responsible for developing tools and applications to create a great DevEx for other software engineers at Adyen. Your primary function will be to work on a distributed, real-time, 24/7 system with interesting performance and security requirements. You will be expected to develop experiences that make the daily lives of developers a breeze. Some examples of your responsibilities include: - Writing bespoke local or CI tooling - Working on our software testing framework or environments - Designing release pipeline and associated flows - Collaborating with teams involved in the build and release process - Working with teams that build our underlying on-premises infrastructure, such as our Kubernetes clusters and our own private cloud WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need to have: - 7+ years of experience in maintaining high availability in a constantly running system built in multiple languages - Proficiency in either Java, Python, or Golang - Comfortable with bash scripting - 2+ years of strong experience working with Linux, particularly in building containers in ephemeral environments - Ability to design and create tools, flows, and setups that provide an amazing developer experience - Strong ownership skills, able to coordinate between teams and push projects through to the end - Mentorship skills, able to upskill peers - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration - Proven track record in developing CI/CD tooling and applications, automating legacy processes to meet modern development standards - Hands-on experience with writing and maintaining GitLab and Jenkins pipelines - At least surface knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, Puppet for system configuration and automation - Diagnostic skills, capable of diagnosing problems effectively and making quick, informed decisions WHY REMOTE Note: This role is based out of our Amsterdam office.
