Senior Data Scientist, Trust (Inference)

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Data Scientist on the Trust (Inference) team at Airbnb, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing data-driven solutions to protect guest and host trust on our platform. With a strong focus on causal inference and machine learning, you will partner closely with cross-functional teams to detect and defend against adversarial behavior, such as fraudulent listings, fake inventory, review and content manipulation, and account takeover. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Collaborate with product, engineering, policy, and operations teams to develop and implement data-driven solutions to protect guest and host trust - Design and implement machine learning models to detect and prevent fraudulent activity on the platform - Conduct causal inference analysis to measure the impact of new listing integrity defenses, risk modeling at the listing or account level, and enforcement policy effectiveness - Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support data-driven decision making - Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to stakeholders across the organization WHAT YOU'LL NEED - PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field - 5+ years of experience in data science, with a strong focus on causal inference and machine learning - Proven track record of developing and implementing data-driven solutions to complex problems - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R, with experience working with large datasets WHY REMOTE As a remote team member, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and be part of a global community that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
