Senior Data Scientist II - Core Delivery

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist II to join our Core Delivery team at Instacart, a company transforming the grocery industry by providing a seamless and essential service to customers. As a Senior Data Scientist II, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing the delivery experience, designing and executing rigorous experiments, and leveraging geospatial data and advanced analytical techniques to optimize delivery experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Data Scientist II, you'll be responsible for: - Owning analytical frameworks that guide the product roadmap - Designing rigorous experiments and interpreting results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions - Developing statistical models to extract trends, measure results, and predict future performance of our products - Building simulations to project the impact of various product and policy interventions - Enabling objective decision-making across the company by democratizing data through dashboards and other analytical tools - Using expertise in causal inference, machine learning, complex systems modeling, behavioral decision theory, etc., to shape the future of Instacart - Presenting findings in a compelling way to influence Instacart's leadership WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need: - 7+ years of experience working in a data science or ML role at a product company - Ability to run rigorous experiments and generate scientifically sound recommendations - Strong SQL skills for data extraction and transformation from relational databases - Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis, including libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, or equivalent - Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks WHY REMOTE Instacart is a Flex First team, which means we offer flexibility in where you do your best work. The base pay range for this role varies by location, with ranges listed below: - CA, NY, CT, NJ: $218,000 - $230,000 USD - WA: $209,000 - $220,500 USD - OR, DE, ME, MA, MD, NH, RI, VT, DC, PA, VA, CO, TX, IL, HI: $200,000 - $211,000 USD - All other states: $182,000 - $192,000 USD Additionally, Instacart offers a range of benefits, including health plan, parental leave, education stipend, life insurance, and equipment stipend.
