ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking highly skilled Senior Data Scientists to join our team at Instacart, a leading grocery delivery company. As a Senior Data Scientist, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our business by driving data-driven decision-making and developing innovative analytical solutions. You'll have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from designing and executing experiments to building statistical models and simulations. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Data Scientist, your responsibilities will include: - Developing and owning analytical frameworks that guide our product roadmap - Designing rigorous experiments and interpreting results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions - Developing statistical models to extract trends, measure results, and predict future performance of our products - Building simulations to project the impact of various product and policy interventions - Enabling objective decision-making across the company by democratizing data through dashboards and other analytical tools - Presenting findings in a compelling way to influence Instacart's leadership WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you'll need: - 5+ years of experience working in a quantitative role at a product company or a research organization - Ability to run rigorous experiments and generate scientifically sound recommendations - Ability to write complex, efficient, and eloquent SQL queries to extract data - Ability to write efficient and eloquent code in Python or R - A desire to build and improve consumer software products - Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks - Eagerness to learn, flexibility to pivot when needed, savviness to navigate a dynamic environment, and a growth mindset to build a successful team and company WHY REMOTE At Instacart, we're a Flex First team, which means we prioritize flexibility and work-life balance.
