Senior Data Scientist, Guest & Host

ABOUT THE ROLE Airbnb is a global community of hosts and guests who come together to create unique experiences. We're looking for a talented Data Scientist to join our Guest & Host Data Science organization, where you'll develop innovative data products and insights to shape the Airbnb marketplace and product. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional partners to drive collaboration and innovation, and directly impact the Airbnb user community and marketplace with your work. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Data Scientist on our team, you'll be responsible for building data-driven products and models that empower our hosts to thrive on our platform and our guests to easily discover and book stays that match their needs. Your work may range from building models to understand the impact of supply and demand on marketplace outcomes, to applying causal inference methods to measure the impact of new pricing guidance tools, to generating destination recommendations based on our understanding of guest travel preferences. You'll contribute directly to the development and launch of data-driven products and models, leveraging AI tools to enhance efficiency and impact. You'll also analyze structured or unstructured data to uncover meaningful insights and craft actionable proposals that help shape strategy. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you'll need: - 5+ years of experience with a BS/masters degree, 2+ years of experience with a PhD - Experience with experimentation, causal observational analysis, and machine learning techniques - Experience partnering with product, engineering, and design to enable data-driven model or product development - Ability to prototype, build, and scale derived data assets - Strong coding skills in SQL and either Python or R - Strong oral and written communication skills - an ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience - Work authorization (if applicable) - Travel requirements (if applicable) WHY REMOTE This position is US-Remote Eligible, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US.
