ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Grafana Backend Services squad at Grafana Labs. With a strong focus on developer productivity and AI-assisted development, we are looking for a talented individual to contribute to the delivery of our unified, end-to-end Grafana service. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering new functionality, contributing to design documents, and mentoring junior engineers. You will also participate in on-call rotations, take ownership of the services you're running, and collaborate with the team to drive innovation and improvement. You will work closely with other squads in the Grafana Division and contribute to open-source projects that align with our company values. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need solid backend development experience, ideally with Go. You should have a good understanding of storage solutions, including relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres. You will also need to care deeply about developer and user experience, with a focus on delivering high-quality products. Experience with mentoring junior engineers, writing clean and robust software, and working on complex solutions is also essential. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process.
