ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Grafana Backend Services squad, a team that delivers the best Grafana service to both On-Prem and Cloud customers in a unified, end-to-end manner. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our platform, working with a global team of innovators who thrive in an environment of transparency, autonomy, and trust. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering new functionality, contributing to and reviewing design documents, and embracing our open-source culture by contributing to other projects. You will also take an active role in influencing our roadmap, mentor and support other team members, and participate in design discussions and collaborations. Additionally, you will be part of the on-call rotations, take ownership of the services you're running, and regularly share ideas and knowledge across a vast array of technical ideologies and mindsets. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need solid backend development experience, ideally with Go, and a good understanding of storage solutions with an emphasis on relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres. You will also need to care deeply about developer and user experience and the quality of the products that you work on. Experience with delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product to the customer's hands in a self-driven way is also essential. You should be able to write clean, robust, and performant software that is easily maintained by others and have experience with mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative but asynchronous environment. BENEFITS In Sweden, the base compensation range for this role is SEK 775,000 - SEK 969,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process.
