ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer to join our Grafana Backend Services squad at Grafana Labs. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering new functionality, contributing to and reviewing design documents, embracing our open-source culture, and taking an active role in influencing our roadmap and your career objectives. You will also be part of your team's on-call rotations, take ownership of the services you're running, mentor and support other team members, and collaborate with the team. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to work closely with other squads in the Grafana Division and regularly share ideas and knowledge across a vast array of technical ideologies and mindsets. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need solid backend development experience, ideally with Go, and a good understanding of storage solutions with an emphasis on relational databases like MySQL, SQLite, and Postgres. You will also need to care deeply about developer and user experience and the quality of the products that you work on. Experience with delivering projects from gathering requirements to shipping a product to the customer's hands in a self-driven way, writing clean, robust, and performant software, and mentoring junior engineers in a collaborative but asynchronous environment are also essential. BENEFITS In Germany, the base compensation range for this role is €97,000 - €121,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process.
