ABOUT THE ROLE The Senior Associate, FCM role at Coinbase is a high-impact opportunity to contribute to the company's mission of increasing economic freedom. This position is part of the FCM Operations team, which supports Coinbase Financial Markets, Inc. across US Futures, Prediction Markets, and Options. As a Senior Associate, you will own exception management and operational readiness for new product launches, ensuring our derivatives infrastructure scales reliably while meeting regulatory expectations. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this role, you will be responsible for owning exception management across cash, positions, trades, and margin, including triage, investigation, resolution, and implementation of durable fixes. You will also lead operational readiness for new product launches, covering UAT/test case design, playbooks, cutover plans, and post-launch stabilization. Additionally, you will partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, Accounting, and Engineering to design processes, controls, and reporting that scale and meet regulatory expectations. You will establish monitoring and exception reporting frameworks (SLAs, KPIs, dashboards) and run incident triage with clear escalation paths. Furthermore, you will drive root cause analysis and post-mortems, translating learnings into product and process improvements. You will also identify and implement automation and tooling to reduce operational friction and manual work. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need 5+ years of experience in financial services or fintech operations with FCM, broker-dealer, or listed derivatives experience, emphasizing trade operations, margin, or exception management. You will also need demonstrated analytical problem-solving in exception-based operations with strong prioritization and escalation judgment. Additionally, you will need product launch and operational readiness experience, including requirements gathering, UAT execution, playbook development, and go-live support. Effective cross-functional business partnering with Product, Engineering, Risk, and Compliance teams in fast-moving environments is also essential. A working knowledge of listed derivatives characteristics and interest in blockchain/cryptocurrency markets is preferred. You will also utilize generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. BENEFITS Coinbase offers a competitive annual base salary range of $130,900 - $154,000 USD, excluding equity and bonus. Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).
