Senior AI Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Amplitude is the leading AI analytics platform, helping over 4,700 customers build better products and digital experiences. As a Senior AI Engineer, you will play a critical role in advancing Amplitude's AI products and the foundations they're built on. You will identify where AI creates the most leverage, build the systems that deliver it, and establish the patterns that let the rest of the company build faster on top of your work. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Senior AI Engineer, you will be responsible for shipping high-impact AI features and products that change how customers and internal teams work. This will involve designing and building the foundational infrastructure behind Amplitude's AI systems, identifying high-leverage opportunities, establishing reusable patterns, and driving adoption and quality through close collaboration with product, design, and customer-facing teams. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You will need to have a strong track record of shipping AI-powered systems that people actually use. You will bring deep technical instincts, strong product sense, and a forward-thinking view of where AI is heading. Key requirements include: - 3+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years building production LLM or applied AI systems - Experience designing and scaling AI products, platforms, or developer tools with real users and real reliability constraints - Deep familiarity with the modern AI ecosystem: model APIs, agent frameworks, evals, retrieval, prompting, tool use, and the tradeoffs between them - Strong product sense and systems thinking - Excellent communicator and collaborator WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and be part of a company that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
