Product Counsel (Crypto/Bridge)

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Product Counsel to join Stripe's Product Legal team, responsible for managing the legal and regulatory elements of our products and services. As a key advisor to our product, engineering, and partnerships teams, you will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle financial services, business, and technology. Your expertise in cryptocurrency and stablecoin product development will be instrumental in helping us deliver compliant products to our users globally. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Product Counsel, you will be part of a growing team that helps Stripe deliver products that meet laws and contractual commitments worldwide. Your focus will be on the development and commercialization of cryptocurrency and stablecoin products, particularly as part of our Bridge line of business. Your responsibilities will include: - Helping Stripe product teams navigate the intersection of technological innovation, e-commerce user experiences, and financial services compliance on a range of issues. - Collaborating with various Stripe teams, including product, engineering, partnerships, compliance, risk, and marketing, on product development and commercialization. - Advising on new and emerging legal and regulatory developments impacting products and identifying trends and potential impacts on business activities. - Supporting Stripe's regulatory structure, customer agreements, and strategic financial partnerships. - Scoping and building scalable and effective processes for legal review and launch of new products. - Staying up-to-date on US and international laws and regulations pertaining to cryptocurrency, stablecoin, and traditional financial services products. - Participating as a proactive and strategic business partner to senior managers and being a trusted advisor. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 7+ years of experience as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm, in-house legal team, and/or government agency, with expertise in cryptocurrency and stablecoin product development. - Familiarity with counseling teams that solve issues through technology and translating complex legal requirements into clear and actionable advice. - Excellent judgment, communication skills, and project management skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with teammates and adapt to a fast-paced environment. - Passion for technology and understanding complex business models and product use cases quickly. - A qualified US lawyer with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
