ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled Patient Scheduler II to join our team at Essentia Health. As a Patient Scheduler II, you will play a critical role in pre-registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services in a timely, professional, and courteous manner. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As a Patient Scheduler II, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Pre-registering and scheduling patients for appointments, procedures, tests, and other services
- Answering incoming calls, completing follow-up and referral work queues, and ticket scheduling
- Communicating with patient care teams to ensure efficient and appropriate care for patients
- Completing patient checkout, scheduling follow-up appointments per the physician's order, and providing patients with cost estimates and itineraries for upcoming appointments
- Supporting population management, chronic disease management, and ACO initiatives through patient registry and outbound calling
- Proficiently and accurately entering data into the permanent electronic health record while talking with patients
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 1 year of clinical healthcare experience, or
- 1 year experience as a Patient Scheduler I, or
- 1 year experience in a contact/call center
