ABOUT THE ROLE The Manager of Compliance Testing and Assurance leads Coinbase’s independent oversight program that evaluates the design and effectiveness of compliance controls across all U.S. and international entities. In this role you will partner with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Internal Audit, and business units to strengthen the company’s regulatory framework, ensuring that Coinbase remains compliant with evolving AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, and trade surveillance requirements. Your work will directly influence the integrity of our products and the trust of our global customer base. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own the end‑to‑end execution of assigned compliance testing activities, from risk assessment and fieldwork to reporting and issue remediation, escalating findings to senior leadership as needed. - Build and refine enterprise‑wide testing methodologies, governance documents, and frameworks in collaboration with the Head of CTA to maintain a rigorous, risk‑based approach. - Develop the annual risk‑based testing plan in partnership with cross‑functional teams, ensuring coverage of all critical controls and emerging regulatory priorities. - Deliver concise, executive‑ready reports on testing progress, results, root‑cause analyses, and remediation status to senior compliance leadership. - Lead issue tracking and remediation validation, ensuring corrective actions are implemented, documented, and tracked in a central repository. - Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends to proactively identify emerging risks that could impact Coinbase’s products or the CTA program. WHAT YOU'LL NEED - Minimum five years of experience executing compliance testing, monitoring, assurance, or audit programs within financial services, with a proven record of developing risk‑based testing plans. - Demonstrated ability to identify uncontrolled risks and control gaps across a global regulatory landscape, including AML/CFT, sanctions, consumer protection, and trade surveillance. - Strong analytical skills and hands‑on experience with data extraction and analysis tools such as SQL, Tableau, or Snowflake, coupled with proficiency in Google Slides and Google Sheets for clear communication. - BA/BS degree in business, finance, or a related discipline, with additional certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, or CISSP) considered a plus. - Excellent stakeholder management and presentation skills, capable of translating complex findings into actionable insights for senior executives. - A commitment to responsible use of generative AI, ensuring human oversight and business‑ready outputs that drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
