ABOUT THE ROLE
Asana is seeking a Manager, IT Client Endpoint Engineering to lead the development and execution of endpoint management strategies, ensuring the security and efficiency of Asana's client platform. This player/coach role requires a strong technical foundation in endpoint engineering, with experience in managing client endpoint infrastructure, including macOS, Windows, and mobile platforms. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing and mentoring engineers, with a focus on developing their skills and expertise.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As Manager, IT Client Endpoint Engineering, you will:
- Lead and develop a team of four engineers, focusing on client platform and applications engineering
- Own the client platform program, setting strategy and executing endpoint fleet management, including MDM infrastructure, zero-touch deployment, software catalog, and OS lifecycle
- Strengthen endpoint security by working with the Corporate Security team to harden Asana's endpoint posture, respond to incidents, and build initiatives that connect security priorities and endpoints
- Oversee the applications engineering function, managing the SaaS portfolio and setting direction for the team
- Serve as the technical escalation point for endpoint-related issues and decisions
- Push automation and efficiency by identifying opportunities to reduce manual work through scripting, APIs, and workflow tooling
- Work across the organization to partner with Corporate Security, HR, Legal, and other business teams to understand their needs and communicate IT's solutions
- Document and share knowledge to ensure that processes and procedures are clearly understood and can be followed by others
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making
- Experience managing client endpoint infrastructure, including macOS and Windows, with mobile (iOS/Android) a strong plus
- Hands-on experience with MDM platforms like Jamf, Intune, BigFix, or AirWatch, as well as zero-touch deployment methods
- Familiarity with identity platforms like Okta and how they connect to endpoint management
- Ability to write scripts in Bash or PowerShell, with familiarity with APIs and orchestration tools like Workato
- Sufficient SaaS administration experience to lead a team that owns it, including Google Workspace, Slack, and similar platforms
- Some management experience, preferably in a senior engineering role, with a focus on developing team members' skills and expertise
