ABOUT THE ROLE The Investigator, Global Security role at Lyft is a critical position that supports all lines of business related to investigations, including Platform Fraud, Community Safety, Law Enforcement Liaison & Partnerships, Insurance Fraud, and Executive Protection & Risk Assessment. This role requires building strong relationships with internal business partners, law enforcement agencies, and other third parties to bring successful case resolution. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Investigator, Global Security, you will work in close partnership with the Manager of Global Investigations and Head of Global Security to set strategic objectives, drive accountability, and ensure successful delivery of key performance metrics. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and building the global law enforcement outreach program to regularly liaise and develop strategic relationships with law enforcement agencies - Maintaining effective working relationships with law enforcement and government authorities, as well as internal cross-functional partners - Planning and executing educational programs for law enforcement authorities on Lyft's business and challenges with external theft and loss - Conducting and leading complex theft investigations related to organized crime and advising internal leaders and business partners - Supporting different theft and loss initiatives being driven across the bikes and scooters line of business - Acting as a thought leader by understanding trends in organized theft and driving continuous improvement across the company - Contributing to the development and maintenance of Lyft's policies and practices in close partnership with internal cross-functional partners - Assisting with threat and risk assessments, investigations, mitigation, and protection efforts for Executive Protection - Supporting other business lines at Lyft with community outreach activities and initiatives as needed - Traveling up to 50% of the time WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - Extensive experience working with law enforcement authorities, with a bonus for interfacing with international law enforcement agencies - Significant experience in organized retail crime (ORC) detection and law enforcement partnerships - Ability to gain buy-in from Law Enforcement to resolve ORC investigations and knowledge and expertise in preparing for and testifying in Local/State/Federal Court - Investigative experience identifying, resolving, conducting root cause analysis, and recommending deterrent enhancements - Ability to participate, conduct, lead surveillance with law enforcement as it relates to large and complex external cases - Outstanding written, verbal, electronic communication and presentation skills - Proven ability to track, prioritize and drive multiple concurrent projects - Strong problem-solver with ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment - Highest level of integrity and management of confidential information - Bachelor's degree or higher education (preferred) WHY REMOTE While this role will be hybrid, with a requirement to work in the office 3 days a week, it does not require a traditional office-based setup.
