WHAT YOU'LL DO As the Head of Engineering for Discover, you will be responsible for owning the technical strategy, execution, quality, and delivery of the product. Your key responsibilities will include: - Owning the end-to-end execution of the engineering roadmap and ensuring the delivery of robust, performant code at startup speed. - Providing hands-on technical leadership, writing code, building prototypes, reviewing pull requests, and working side-by-side with engineers to design scalable systems. - Establishing the bar for technical excellence and defining coding, testing, and deployment standards that balance the need for rapid product experimentation with strict platform stability and cost-efficient LLM integration. - Championing modern developer experiences and driving the adoption of agentic workflows and automated internal tools to eliminate boilerplate and amplify the team's delivery velocity. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need to have: - 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams within fast-paced startup environments and rapidly changing landscapes. - A strong passion for coaching developers directly and keeping your own coding and architecture skills sharp. - Experience at the intersection of AI, full-stack development, and experimentation, with a deep understanding of business KPIs and the ability to translate product goals into clean technical solutions. - The ability to foster an engineering environment of high standards and high psychological safety, giving engineers the autonomy to move fast while providing clear architectural guardrails.
