Global Physical Security Intelligence Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE Cloudflare is building the most resilient, high‑performance network on the planet. As the Global Physical Security Intelligence Specialist you will be a key architect of the security that protects our data centers, offices, and the global infrastructure that powers millions of websites. You will partner with engineering, operations, and risk teams to design, deploy, and continuously improve the physical security stack that underpins our digital services. Your work will ensure that every physical asset and access point is secure, compliant, and seamlessly integrated with our digital identity systems. WHAT YOU’LL DO You will lead the strategy and execution of physical security technologies across Cloudflare’s global footprint, managing the deployment of access control, CCTV, and sensor systems in partnership with vendors such as Verkada. You will coordinate investigations and incident responses with the People’s Team and the Security Incident Response Team, providing rapid remediation and post‑incident analysis. You will design and automate security policies, audit procedures, and compliance frameworks to meet FedRAMP, ISO 27001, and SOC 2 requirements, and you will support internal and external audits of physical controls. You will conduct site walk‑throughs of data centers, corporate offices, and executive residences, identifying risks and recommending mitigations. You will maintain operational metrics, project tracking, and status reporting for all physical security initiatives, ensuring alignment with infrastructure partners and executive leadership. You will travel to all Cloudflare locations as needed, typically 35 % of the time, to build relationships with local teams and vendors. WHAT YOU’LL NEED You bring at least five years of experience managing large‑scale physical security programs, including hands‑on deployment of access control and CCTV systems at scale. You have a deep understanding of networking security as it relates to physical devices and the integration of logical access controls. Experience with Verkada Command or similar platforms is essential. You can make sound risk‑based decisions, prioritize multiple projects, and influence stakeholders across engineering, operations, and executive leadership. You are comfortable coordinating with law enforcement and government agencies at all levels and have a proven track record of earning trust across diverse teams. Strong written and verbal communication skills, coupled with the ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable plans, are required. A background in compliance, audit, and certification processes such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or FedRAMP is highly desirable.
