ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a skilled developer to join our team at Better Futures Multi-Academy Trust, a group of sixth form colleges based in the UK Midlands. As a developer, you will have the opportunity to shape the direction of two innovative products that are changing the way leadership development and student feedback work in education and beyond. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will take ownership of our 360-degree leadership platform, ARC, and student feedback app, Swaya, driving their development, quality, and roadmap. You will work closely with our founders to define product direction and inherit a solid Rails and React codebase, making it even better. Your responsibilities will include managing iOS and Android app updates, solving real UX problems, and shipping features that make a tangible impact on our users. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - Strong experience with Ruby on Rails, with a focus on production-level development - Proficiency in React and a genuine passion for UI/UX quality - Mobile app experience, including iOS and Android development (React Native, Flutter, or native) - A product-focused mindset, with the ability to think beyond individual tickets - Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn quickly - UK-based residency, with the right to work without sponsorship WHY REMOTE We offer flexible, remote-first working with occasional in-person days in the Midlands. This allows you to balance your work and personal life while still being an integral part of our team.
