Field Services Engineer
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
Schwing Stetter India is a global leader in the design, manufacture and servicing of concrete batching plants. We are looking for a proactive Field Services Engineer to join our engineering team and support our customers worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of our batching plant systems, from installation and commissioning to ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting. You will collaborate closely with sales, product development and customer support teams to deliver high‑quality service and drive customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Plan, schedule and execute on‑site installation and commissioning of batching plant equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Provide remote and on‑site troubleshooting support, diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues and recommending effective solutions.
- Conduct preventive maintenance visits, perform system upgrades and coordinate with vendors for spare parts and specialized tools.
- Document service activities, generate detailed reports and update customer records in the service management system.
- Train plant operators on equipment operation, safety procedures and maintenance best practices.
- Collaborate with the R&D team to provide field feedback that informs product improvements and new feature development.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in field service or technical support for heavy industrial equipment, preferably in the concrete or construction machinery sector.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics and control systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, handheld meters and service software.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Self‑motivated, highly organized and able to manage multiple service requests across different time zones.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to client sites.
