Engineering Manager Thailand
Job Description
ABOUT THE ROLE
KIRA is a leading Southeast Asian insurance platform that has expanded into broader financial services. The Engineering Manager will lead a high‑performing engineering team that builds and scales products used by millions of users across the region. The role requires a strong technical leader who can drive architecture, engineering decisions, and product delivery from concept to production while maintaining quality and speed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You will manage a cross‑functional team of frontend, backend, and full‑stack engineers, ensuring rapid, reliable delivery of major product areas. Collaborating closely with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI teams, you will translate ambiguous product challenges into clear technical plans. You will set engineering standards for code quality, system design, testing, observability, security, and production reliability. By staying involved in architecture reviews, code reviews, debugging, and critical decisions, you will raise the team’s engineering bar. You will coach engineers, provide performance feedback, and identify early gaps to elevate execution. Process improvements, tooling, and automation will be your focus to accelerate delivery at scale. Post‑release, you will own production outcomes, monitoring, incident resolution, root‑cause analysis, and prevention of recurrence. Building a culture of ownership, speed, technical excellence, and continuous improvement will be central to your leadership.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
You have a solid software engineering background with a proven record of shipping production systems. Experience leading or managing engineers and owning delivery is essential. Your technical depth spans backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems, or cloud infrastructure, enabling sound architecture and trade‑off decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability. You bring a strong track record of taking products or systems from idea through launch and production, reviewing designs, challenging decisions, and debugging complex issues. People leadership skills are critical: you coach, manage performance, and build high‑performing teams. A keen product sense lets you align engineering choices with customer and business outcomes. You thrive in fast, ambiguous environments, set priorities, and drive teams toward clear results. An ownership mentality ensures you take responsibility when delivery slips or incidents occur.
WHY REMOTE
This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with a diverse, global team of over 20 nationalities. The role supports flexible scheduling and a focus on outcomes rather than location.
BENEFITS
The company offers a competitive salary, health coverage, parental leave, education stipends, life insurance, equipment allowance, and a flexible schedule to support a high‑quality remote work experience.
