Engineering Manager, HADR

ABOUT THE ROLE As an Engineering Manager, HADR at Stripe, you will play a critical role in shaping the long-term Data Serving strategy for the company. You will lead a high-visibility team responsible for offering data-serving infrastructure, including data warehouse analytics, streaming analytics, and search capabilities. The team supports thousands of individual Stripes across the company, processing hundreds of thousands of search and analytics-shaped queries on petabytes of data. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Engineering Manager, HADR, your primary responsibilities will include: - Working with engineers and other leaders at Stripe to understand opportunities to better leverage Apache Pinot at scale - Supporting the engineering team in achieving a high level of technical quality, reliability, and ease of use - Leading and managing processes to help the team do its best work and engage effectively with the rest of Stripe - Recruiting great engineers, in collaboration with Stripe's recruiting team - Developing engineers on the team, helping them advance in their careers - Contributing to engineering-wide initiatives as a member of Stripe's engineering management team WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - At least 3 years of experience managing teams that shipped and operated critical distributed system infrastructure - Successfully recruited and built great teams - The ability to work effectively cross-functionally and think rigorously, communicate effectively, and make or coordinate hard decisions and trade-offs - A high degree of autonomy and responsibility in an ambiguous environment - Technical acumen to drive clarity with staff engineers about architecture and technical strategic decisions - The ability to encourage a healthy and inclusive work environment that's both challenging and supportive WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and be part of a team that is shaping the future of data serving infrastructure.
