Engineering Manager, Agent Runtime Platform

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Agent Runtime Platform team at Anthropic. As a key member of our growing organization, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical strategy and roadmap for our internal agents, ensuring the safe and beneficial deployment of advanced AI systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for: - Translating goals into concrete execution and owning the technical strategy and roadmap for the Agent Runtime Platform - Managing day-to-day execution of the team's work and prioritizing projects in a highly dynamic, fast-paced environment - Staying hands-on and building and shipping the runtime platform and tooling - Defining secure agent execution at scale and partnering with security teams on sandboxing, isolation, and credential management - Building primitives that are composable and reusable across various agents - Owning infrastructure scalability and reliability, including capacity planning across cloud providers and operational excellence - Collaborating cross-team to support internal teams bringing up their agents WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale platforms or distributed systems - 1+ years of management experience in a technical environment, particularly in building platforms or agents at scale - A deep interest in the potential transformative effects of advanced AI systems and agents, and a commitment to ensuring their safe deployment - Experience with container or VM orchestration at scale - Excellent communication skills and the ability to support internal partners - A strong track record of productivity and a passion for transforming how we work WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere and will be part of a global team that values collaboration and open communication. BENEFITS Anthropic offers a competitive annual salary range of $405,000 to $485,000 USD, as well as a range of benefits, including a minimum education requirement of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
