Distributed Systems Engineer - Data Platform (Delivery, Database, Retrieval)

WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Software Engineer in our Data Organisation, you will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and reliable distributed systems across the entire data lifecycle. You will work on complex distributed systems challenges across different parts of our data stack, including data delivery, analytical database platform, and data retrieval. Your responsibilities will include: - Designing and developing high-throughput data delivery platforms to ensure data integrity and low-latency delivery - Building and optimising key components of our data delivery platform - Developing new and improving existing components for the Cloudflare Analytical Platform - Scaling, monitoring, and maintaining the performance of our large-scale database clusters - Developing and enhancing our customer-facing GraphQL APIs, log delivery, and alerting solutions - Identifying and removing bottlenecks across our data platforms - Collaborating with other teams across Cloudflare to understand their data needs and build solutions that empower them to make data-driven decisions - Participating in the development of the next generation of our data platforms WHAT YOU'LL NEED - 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on distributed systems and data platforms - Proficiency in Go, ClickHouse, and GraphQL - Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or GCP - Strong understanding of data processing, storage, and retrieval - Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Strong communication and collaboration skills WHY REMOTE We are a fully remote company, and this role is available in Austin, US.
