WHAT YOU'LL DO You will design, implement, and maintain high‑availability database solutions across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and cloud‑native data services, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime. You will collaborate with data engineers, software developers, and infrastructure teams to develop automated provisioning scripts, monitor system health, and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks. You will lead capacity planning and scaling initiatives, applying best practices for sharding, replication, and data partitioning to meet the demands of large‑volume, low‑latency workloads. You will also develop and enforce data governance policies, including backup strategies, disaster recovery procedures, and compliance with regulatory requirements. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You have at least five years of experience administering enterprise‑grade relational and NoSQL databases in a high‑availability environment. You are proficient in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and database tuning, and you have hands‑on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including managed database services. You possess strong scripting skills in Python or Bash for automation and monitoring, and you are comfortable using configuration management tools like Ansible or Terraform. You have a proven track record of troubleshooting complex performance issues, implementing security hardening, and designing resilient architectures that support real‑time data pipelines. Excellent communication skills enable you to explain technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders and to document processes clearly for cross‑functional teams.
