Data Scientist

ABOUT THE ROLE New Flyer, North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader, is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join their team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a critical role in coordinating business value-added projects, including the design, testing, documentation, training, and implementation of customized business solutions to meet the requirements of processes associated with our ERP and related business systems. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Data Scientist at New Flyer, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: Working with various ERP and IoT data sources to build interactive and dynamic Power BI dashboards for data storytelling and stakeholder decision support Designing and developing machine learning models and predictive analytics solutions using data sourced from Snowflake Performing data exploration, statistical analysis, and feature engineering to support AI initiatives Collaborating with data engineering teams to ensure robust data pipelines Contributing to the development of AI-driven tools and frameworks within the organization Evaluating model performance and retraining as needed to adapt to evolving data Participating in cross-functional projects involving manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and engineering Updating training and documentation Delivering user training to operating groups as required WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: A post-secondary education in a Business or STEM field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience Any combination of training and/or certifications in Data Science, Statistics, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) 2+ years of experience in a data science, AI, or advanced analytics role Strong proficiency with SQL (preferably in Snowflake), Python, and Power BI A solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, model evaluation, and AI workflows Experience building end-to-end models and integrating them into business processes Deep knowledge of data warehousing concepts and cloud-based data platforms (Snowflake and Fabric preferred) WHY REMOTE As a remote employee, you will have the flexibility to work from anywhere, while still being an integral part of our team.
