Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE Larsen & Toubro is expanding its global engineering portfolio with a focus on high‑precision tooling for electronic assembly lines. As a Costing Engineer – Jigs & Fixtures, you will be the financial steward of every custom fixture, from concept through procurement, ensuring that each component meets stringent quality standards while staying within budget. Your work will directly influence project timelines, cost savings, and the overall competitiveness of our solutions in the electronics manufacturing market. WHAT YOU'LL DO You will analyze technical drawings and calculate manufacturing costs for both fabricated and bought‑out parts, including metallic, non‑metallic, and electronic components. You will estimate material weight, machining cycles, and finishing processes for CNC and VMC operations, and source price benchmarks for bearings, pneumatics, automation, and electrical items. You will estimate assembly man‑hours, fixture testing, and calibration costs, and incorporate Cpk/Ppk validation runs into your financial models. You will conduct make‑vs‑buy analyses and value‑engineering studies to identify cost‑effective alternatives without compromising precision or safety. You will maintain a live vendor quote database and historical cost repository, ensuring data integrity and accessibility for cross‑functional teams. WHAT YOU'LL NEED You hold a B.E. or B.Tech in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Production Engineering and have 3–5 years of experience in costing for high‑precision tooling or electronics assembly. You are proficient in advanced MS Excel, including macros and pivot tables, and familiar with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle. You can view and measure parts using CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and possess deep knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, and surface treatments. You demonstrate a zero‑error mindset, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with Design, Procurement, and Finance teams. WHY REMOTE Our distributed team culture empowers you to work from anywhere while maintaining seamless collaboration through asynchronous communication tools and structured weekly syncs. The flexibility of a remote schedule allows you to balance personal commitments with professional responsibilities, fostering higher productivity and job satisfaction. BENEFITS Health and dental coverage, comprehensive vision plan, and wellness stipend Generous paid time off and flexible holiday policy Remote work stipend and home‑office equipment allowance Annual learning budget for courses, certifications, and conferences Competitive salary package with performance‑based bonuses and equity options
