Backend Engineer, Developer SDKs

ABOUT THE ROLE Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses, empowering millions of companies to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. As a Backend Engineer, Developer SDKs, you will play a critical role in shaping the experience of developers using Stripe SDKs that power over 80% of the payment volume at Stripe. WHAT YOU'LL DO In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and maintenance of Stripe's open-source SDKs, which are used by a vast majority of server-side Stripe integrations. Your responsibilities will include: - Representing the needs of the Golang community and ensuring that Stripe SDKs are idiomatic in Golang. - Improving the code generation framework using your Node.js expertise and working towards a future where it is open-sourced to make it easier for third-party Stripe SDK owners to maintain their libraries. - Collaborating with various Stripe teams to release their APIs in the SDKs and improving the efficiency of the release process. - Helping streamline the API authoring process at Stripe. - Supporting users reaching out to us on the open-source GitHub repositories for our SDKs. - Adding support for new language features in SDKs. - Helping lead the API design process at Stripe, providing guidance to product teams as they seek to produce powerful and intuitive abstractions that surface through our SDKs. - Collaborating, mentoring, and providing support to other team members. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 6+ years in engineering across a wide range of products. - 3+ years of experience as a Golang software engineer. - An interest in working with multiple programming languages. - A passion for API design and developer experience.
