Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE As an Associate Solutions Architect at GitLab, you will play a key role in helping SMB customers in the EMEA region understand how GitLab's DevSecOps platform addresses their technical requirements and business objectives. With a strong focus on customer empathy and technical expertise, you will guide organizations through their digital transformation journeys, from planning to monitoring. You will work closely with the Sales team and cross-functional teams to drive successful platform adoption, influence revenue growth through solution selling, and build long-term, trust-based relationships. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Associate Solutions Architect, your primary responsibilities will include: - Collaborating with the Sales team to develop and execute a sales strategy that exceeds revenue targets through the adoption of GitLab. - Educating SMB customers on the value proposition of GitLab and participating in discussions throughout the organization to ensure successful GitLab deployment. - Guiding technical evaluations via POC/POV ownership, RFP/audit support, and workshop design. - Building relationships with people within customer environments to enable them to be GitLab advocates. - Serving as the customer advocate to other GitLab teams, including Product Development, Sales, and Marketing. - Continuously improving your professional skills through activities such as training, reading, and seeking mentorship from others. - Maintaining specialty competency in one or more technologies related to GitLab's market focus. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - 1-2+ years of experience engaging with customers in pre-sales, consulting, or similar roles, guiding them through solution design and evaluation. - Experience or an eagerness to understand the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including modern DevSecOps practices and continuous integration and continuous deployment workflows. - Practical knowledge of cloud computing concepts and related technologies, with the ability to discuss deployment, security, and operations options with technical teams. - Ability to lead technical evaluations such as proofs of concept or proofs of value, contribute to tenders or audits, and design and run workshops or value stream assessments. - Clear technical communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt messages for practitioners through to senior business and technical decision makers. - Skill in building trusted relationships, listening with empathy, and acting as a customer advocate to internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing.
