Application Security Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE Fin is a leading AI Customer Agent company on a mission to help businesses deliver perfect customer experiences. As an Application Security Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping Fin's AI-first approach to security, ensuring the trust and security of our customers and their data. You will be part of a unique Security Engineering team that owns and operates critical security services, builds customer-facing security features, and partners with engineering teams to make secure development the default. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Application Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and evolving customer-facing security features, including authentication, SAML/SSO, permissions systems, audit and activity logging, malicious URL scanning, and other enterprise security controls. You will partner with engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle to build secure products and services, conduct architecture reviews and security assessments, and lead application security initiatives to identify and address security risks early. You will also participate in a shared on-call rotation, lead security incident response efforts, and drive security initiatives from problem definition through design, implementation, and measurable outcomes. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need proven application security, product security, or security engineering experience within a SaaS environment. You will have strong software engineering skills with experience designing, building, and operating production systems, as well as a deep understanding of modern application security threats, secure software development practices, and threat modelling. You will also have experience designing, building, or securing authentication, authorization, identity, or enterprise security capabilities, and hands-on security incident response experience.
