Job Description

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to participate in the Anthropic Fellows Program, a 4-month full-time research opportunity that fosters AI research and engineering talent. As an Anthropic Fellow, you will work on an empirical project aligned with our research priorities, with the goal of producing a public output (e.g. a paper submission). This program is designed to provide funding and mentorship to promising technical talent, regardless of previous experience. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Anthropic Fellow, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including AI safety, security, and societal impacts. You will be matched with a mentor who will guide you through the project selection and research process. You will also have access to a shared workspace in either Berkeley, California or London, UK, and will be connected to the broader AI safety and security research community. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be a strong candidate for the Anthropic Fellows Program, you should have a strong technical background in computer science, mathematics, or physics. You should also be fluent in Python programming and be available to work full-time on the program. While a strong background in a specific discipline relevant to a Fellows workstream (e.g. economics, social sciences, or cybersecurity) is not required, it is a plus. WHY REMOTE As an Anthropic Fellow, you will have the flexibility to work remotely from either Berkeley, California or London, UK. You will also have access to a shared workspace and will be connected to the broader AI safety and security research community. BENEFITS The expected base stipend for this role is $3,850 USD / £2,310 GBP / $4,300 CAD per week, with an expectation of 40 hours per week for 4 months (with possible extension). You will also receive funding for compute (~$15k/month) and other research expenses.
