Analytics Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE As an Analytics Engineer at Monzo, you will play a key role in building and maintaining our Data Warehouse, a critical component of our business. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and contribute to the development of a world-class analytics platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and optimize data pipelines and models, ensuring that our data is accurate, reliable, and easily accessible for business decision-making. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Analytics Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include: - Building robust pipelines and data models downstream of backend services, primarily in BigQuery, to support internal reporting, machine learning, and financial and regulatory use cases. - Optimizing our Data Warehouse to reduce complexity and cost, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing changes. - Defining and managing best practices for our Data Warehouse, including payload design, logical data modeling, implementation, metadata, and testing standards. - Collaborating with colleagues from other disciplines to monitor and improve data quality within the warehouse. - Following established best practices and standards defined by the team. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you should have: - Experience and a passion for Data Modelling, ETL projects, and Big Data as an engineer, developer, or analyst. - Confidence with SQL and data modeling. - Familiarity with general Data Warehousing concepts. - An eye for detail. - A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes. WHY REMOTE This role can be based in our London office, but we are open to distributed working within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.
