Analytics Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our team at Metabase. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in leveraging data to drive business decisions and improve our customers' experiences. WHAT YOU'LL DO As an Analytics Engineer at Metabase, you will be responsible for refining our data, building models, and disseminating insights throughout the team to enable self-service analytics. Your tasks will include: - Iteratively refining our data and building models to inform business decisions - Organizing datasets and performing complex transforms using SQL and Python - Digging into data to answer questions and provide actionable insights - Collaborating with business users, designers, product managers, and engineers to drive data-driven decision-making - Developing and maintaining a range of data-related skills, including data ingestion, modeling, analysis, and storytelling WHAT YOU'LL NEED To succeed in this role, you will need: - Strong data modeling or integration skills - Extensive coding experience in SQL (100+ lines of complex SQL queries/models) and/or Python (1k+ lines of OOP scripts) - Fluency in expressing business processes using models and charts - At least 5 years of experience as an analytics engineer, data analyst, data scientist, data engineer, or similar role - A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or an equivalent technical degree - Experience with B2B SaaS, dbt, Postgres/Redshift, Fivetran, dlt, dimensional modeling, data engineering, data science (machine learning), LLM/AI is a plus - You must be based in UTC-3 -- UTC-8 time zones WHY REMOTE As a remote-friendly company, we offer the flexibility to work from anywhere while still being part of a collaborative and dynamic team.
