Product Counsel

ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a Product Counsel to join our Legal team at Fivetran, a leading provider of data integration technology. As a Product Counsel, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's products and services are developed and delivered in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. You will report to the Director - Legal Product & Strategy and will be responsible for providing practical, solution-oriented legal advice throughout the product-development lifecycle. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Product Counsel, you will advise cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, and Privacy teams, on legal issues affecting company products. Your responsibilities will include: - Reviewing and assessing new products, features, and initiatives to provide timely, business-oriented legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation and execution speed. - Counseling teams on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory considerations affecting company products. - Developing scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training materials to empower teams to make informed decisions. - Partnering with commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal colleagues to address cross-functional legal issues and drive alignment. - Monitoring emerging legal, regulatory, and industry developments and translating them into actionable guidance. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need: - A J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. - 4-7 years of relevant legal experience counseling SaaS companies. - Strong legal judgment, sound business instincts, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving technical environment. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
