Product Counsel

ABOUT THE ROLE We're seeking a skilled Product Counsel to join our Legal team at Fivetran, a leading data integration platform. As a business-minded attorney, you will report to the Director - Legal Product & Strategy and provide practical, solution-oriented legal advice throughout the product-development lifecycle. You will partner closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Privacy, and GTM functions to support innovation, manage risk, and enable the next generation of data and analytics solutions. WHAT YOU'LL DO As a Product Counsel, you will advise Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues throughout the product development lifecycle. This will involve reviewing and assessing new products, features, and initiatives, providing timely, business-oriented legal guidance that balances risk management with innovation and execution speed. You will also counsel teams on intellectual property, software licensing, privacy, AI, security, and regulatory considerations affecting company products. Additionally, you will develop scalable legal guidance, policies, playbooks, and training materials that empower teams to make informed decisions. You will also partner with commercial, privacy, security, compliance, and corporate legal colleagues to address cross-functional legal issues and drive alignment. Furthermore, you will monitor emerging legal, regulatory, and industry developments and translate them into actionable guidance. Your role will require strong legal judgment, sound business instincts, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-moving technical environment. WHAT YOU'LL NEED To be successful in this role, you will need a J.D. and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar. You should have 4-7 years of relevant legal experience counseling SaaS companies. You will also need to be comfortable navigating ambiguity, spotting issues early, and helping teams move forward with clear, actionable advice. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as you will work closely with stakeholders across various functions.
